Term 3: Week 1 & 2

 Kia ora katou,

Welcome back to school! It's only week two of Term three and already it has been so busy.

Room 13 said goodbye to one of its students at the end of week one. They are off to a new city and we wish them all the best in their new school.

Term 3's focus is on Collaboration; what it means to us and what that looks like in our everyday lives. The students got together in groups and discussed what collaboration sounds, looks, and feels like. Mr Jones only meant for it to be a quick discussion, but it ended up taking the whole block- so many good ideas came from it.

Our Calendar Art was also themed towards Collaboration. They are not quite finished yet, but are looking really good. I'm biased, but even Whaea Rhoda said so, so it must be true!😆

In Math's, we've started Statistics. Room 13 has had some great discussions centered around what they have noticed and what they wondered when looking at some of the different displays and the data they showed.

Looking forward to an awesome rest of the Term!

  2. Hi Room 13

So cool that there’s lots of good learning going on.. I like that there was heaps of discussions around collaboration.. I don't think you realise how important it is until you come to do a team task and collaboration can sometimes make or break how well you do!

What kind of things were you looking at fir statistics? I think I’m one class I’m in they looked at favourite pets.

Can’t wait to see your calendar art!
